Bringing Patients Back On Track

Bringing Patients Back on Track

How do we get our patients to think as we do? We could tell them to attend dental implant seminars, but we all know that won’t happen. What we need to do is bring the workshop to them. With all your knowledge, that seminar is you!

Times have changed. Having access to a computer and the internet now offers your patients the opportunity to research and compare the information you provide them. We need to get prepared!

Providing Patients With Options

If we can offer you some golden advice, it’s this:

Ensure that you have presented all possible options to your patient, focusing on the best option, and explain why.

List the pros and cons of each treatment option.
Please provide a copy for your patient to take home with them.

The pros and cons you have listed will help remind them why this treatment option is ideal for them.

Informative Seminars for Your Dental Practice

Empower your TEAM! At Team Dental Seminars, we offer motivational seminars geared towards the entire team.

Building Patient Rapport

The next step is to establish a connection with your patient. This is building rapport. The level of your relationship with your patient will vary from patient to patient as each person is different.

Take down notes and remember what triggers them. Why are they sitting across from you today? It is not because they want implants; it is because they want teeth. They want to smile, speak properly, eat in public, and enjoy improved self-esteem and confidence.

Examine Your Motives

Put aside your monthly production goals and any personal motives you may have for wanting your patients to agree to the treatment you propose. We want the patient to say “yes” because we know the result is priceless. By entering into this kind of relationship with them, guiding them through the process, and being there to share their concerns and fears, we can help them regain their self-esteem.

Importance of Empathy

Empathy is vital when discussing treatment cases. This compassion you demonstrate will enable your patients to feel connected to you. It will help them feel safe and encourage them to ask questions that may otherwise hinder their decision to proceed.

Once you have agreed to guide them through the process, remember that they will always be a part of your journey in your chosen career. Believe in what you do, and your patients will believe in you.

Closing the Case

Your patients now experience a connection with you and sense the confidence you exude. Remember, your patients will accept the treatment you recommend for their reasons, not yours. Your goal is to discover their reasons.

A strong Dental Team works congruently to instill a sound, solid treatment plan that your patient will follow and comply with. Your patients are your future. Together, we can provide the skills to ensure that your team is engaged and motivated about your office’s dental services. Once we know more, we become confident; we become trusted by our patients. “If people like you, they’ll listen to you, but if they trust you, they will do business with you.” quoted Zig Ziglar
